OR… Keep reading for the full story of "Our Why."

Through my friend Doug, my Encourager, my particular Simon of Cyrene, I, Grant, have been challenged to,

Create a simple message that distills the activity [of becoming involved in my ministry activity and help people understand my goal] down to the essential elements and explains the activity so that a person reading the statement could understand the activity in 20 seconds.

I am humbled to tears, even now, as I write this, that he might deign to call my work “a ministry.”

And if you know me at all...

Honing my message to 20 seconds is a great challenge indeed.

So, after some thought...

Which if you know me at all, IS prayer...

And the intentional deletion of my existing online life as it was…

And some sleep...

The concept of “Abundantly” rose to the top of my mind.

Because in my dream of this night of July 6, 2019, as at my own baptism, which I remember constantly at Mass, and in many quarters beyond...

I was shown the Abundance of Grace streaming to us...

And if we allow, through us, and with us, and in us as a multitude of Dodecahedral Tesseracts of Ineffable Light so brilliant, and gracefully coordinated, a million artists, lyricists, composers, and choreographers could only begin to depict what I witnessed at Mary’s feet on that glorious day when I was given a glimpse from the Other Side of The Rainbow of Living Water which St. John depicts in his prologue to The Apocalypse, as his offering of The Revelation of the fully-rendered Bride of Christ.

And with the help of the good people at The Bible Gateway, I quickly found that “abundantly” has a very concise, and very interesting profile in the scriptures.

1 Chronicles 29 [DRA] tells us that as King David passed the throne he had been given by Elohim to Solomon, who had asked for Wisdom as his coronation gift, the people of the Land of Israel:

Sacrificed victims to the Lord: and they offered holocausts the next day, a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their libations, and with every thing prescribed most abundantly for all Israel.

At the end of his life, Tobias, whose name literally translates “YHWH is my abundance”, the quintessentially fearless Old Testament Man of Mercy who both entertained strangers, and aliens in the land as angels, unaware, and dared to risk his own life to bury the bodies of the dead in the face of a bloodthirsty tyrant, who forbade this most basic practice of end-of-life Mercy, and common decency, to the Children of Israel, instructs his son with a summarized twenty second gem in Tobit 4:19 [DRA] saying:

If thou have much give abundantly: if thou have a little, take care even so to bestow willingly a little.

As a preamble to Elohim’s soul withering “Who art thou, O man?” in the book of Job, Job’s primary encourager, Eliu, tells the sorely afflicted, and questioning Job, who shall soon be restored as a once, and future sacrificer from abundance in verse 37:10:

When God bloweth there cometh frost, and again the waters are poured out abundantly.

When King David, at the nadir of his own life, cries out for Mercy in Psalm 30 a nugget of warning concerning of Elohim’s abundance which he holds in store for The Proud who oppose Mercy, and block the way of Justice:

O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord will require truth, and will repay them abundantly that act proudly.

Sandwiched between painting himself as both the Mercy of the only door to the peace, and happiness of the sheepfold, and as the Mercy of the Good Shepherd who lays down his life to get us through that door in John 10:10 [DRA] Jesus puts the warning for proud pretenders together with the blessing for his meek sheep,

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they may have life, and may have it more abundantly.

St. Paul, the Great Elaborator, of course, had much to say about living “abundantly” from the testimony of his own “blinding light of faith” in his end-of-life addresses to The Church in existence in his day:

But by the grace of God, I am what I am; and his grace in me hath not been void, but I have laboured more abundantly than all they: yet not I, but the grace of God with me. (1 Corinthians 15:10 [DRA])

For our glory is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity of heart and sincerity of God, and not in carnal wisdom, but in the grace of God, we have conversed in this world: and more abundantly towards you. (2 Corinthians 1:12 [DRA])

For out of much affliction and anguish of heart, I wrote to you with many tears: not that you should be made sorrowful: but that you might know the charity I have more abundantly towards you. (2 Corinthians 2:4 [DRA])

Before God: therefore we were comforted. But in our consolation, we did the more abundantly rejoice for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all. (2 Corinthians 7:13 [DRA])

And his bowels are more abundantly towards you; remembering the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you have received him. (2 Corinthians 7:15 [DRA])

Not glorying beyond measure in other men's labours; but having hope of your increasing faith, to be magnified in you according to our rule abundantly;

Yea, unto those places that are beyond you, to preach the gospel, not to glory in another man's rule, in those things that are made ready to our hand. (2 Corinthians 10:15-16 [DRA])

And I made progress in the Jews' religion above many of my equals in my own nation, being more abundantly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. (Galatians 1:14 [DRA])

Now to him who is able to do all things more abundantly than we desire or understand, according to the power that worketh in us; To him be glory in the church, and in Christ Jesus unto all generations, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20 [DRA])

Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly, in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16-17 [DRA])

But we, brethren, being taken away from you for a short time, in sight, not in heart, have hastened the more abundantly to see your face with great desire. (1 Thessalonians 2:17 [DRA])

Night and day more abundantly praying that we may see your face, and may accomplish those things that are wanting to your faith? (1 Thessalonians 3:10 [DRA])

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them who labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you:

That you esteem them more abundantly in charity, for their work's sake. Have peace with them. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 [DRA])

Charge the rich of this world not to be highminded, nor to trust in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, (who giveth us abundantly all things to enjoy,)

To do good, to be rich in good works, to give easily, to communicate to others,

To lay up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the true life. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 [DRA])

Admonish them to be subject to princes and powers, to obey at a word, to be ready to every good work.

To speak evil of no man, not to be litigious, but gentle: shewing all mildness towards all men.

For we ourselves also were some time unwise, incredulous, erring, slaves to divers desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

But when the goodness and kindness of God our Saviour appeared:

Not by the works of justice, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renovation of the Holy Ghost;

Whom he hath poured forth upon us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour:

That, being justified by his grace, we may be heirs, according to hope of life everlasting. (Titus 3:1-7 [DRA])

For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered, and do minister to the saints.

And we desire that every one of you shew forth the same carefulness to the accomplishing of hope unto the end:

That you become not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience shall inherit the promises.

For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself,

Saying: Unless blessing I shall bless thee, and multiplying I shall multiply thee.

And so patiently enduring he obtained the promise.

For men swear by one greater than themselves: and an oath for confirmation is the end of all their controversy.

Wherein God, meaning more abundantly to shew to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed an oath:

That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have the strongest comfort, who have fled for refuge to hold fast the hope set before us.

Which we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, and which entereth in even within the veil;

Where the forerunner Jesus is entered for us, made a high priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech.  (Hebrews 6:10-20 [DRA])

And to round out the three who were on the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus, Moses, and Elijah, St. James, and St. Peter also have something to add to what St. John says about “abundantly”.

But if any of you want wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men abundantly, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5 [DRA])

Wherefore, brethren, labour the more, that by good works you may make sure your calling and election. For doing these things, you shall not sin at any time For so an entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:11 [DRA])

And then there is Mary, Our Merciful Mother in Common with Jesusm, and all of these other Saints listed here.  And She, who is Wisdom personified by Grace, tells us, very simply, in far less than 20 seconds that if we are to be good stewards of our abundantly lived lives, filled with the improbable wine of human kindness, we must:

Do what he, [Jesus] says.

Accordingly, through the Rosary of Agility she continually tells us just this.  And sometimes she gives us insight, in very specific ways, of what we must do to accomplish this “What of Jesus.”

And for me personally, she has audibly said one thing in my life to me at Mass on April 25, 2019 at Holy Cross Church in Orlando, as I made my now traditional prayer of consecration before leaving:

For this purpose, she has glimmered me along my way to Orlando, where I now sit and pen my invitation to you.

And, when I first started praying the Rosary with some regularity, she gave me a melody to sing as I pray the Rosary in contemplation of what I should do next, and then next, and then next.  This will eventually become the Broadway style musical, The Queen of Grace, but for now, Vacations of Amazing ICE, Happiness & Purpose are my thing.

So, the question becomes, in 20 seconds or less:  What do I want you to do as part of this “Abundantly” burgeoning ministry?

What do I want you to catch fire to?

What do I want you to do?
